What's your definition of a great trade? Is it when you rip someone off and acquire a HOF autograph for a $1 insert? How about when you give up a $10 relic card in order to obtain a $3 card that will finish off a set you've been building for years? Or is the perfect trade when both sides receive equal book value?
This hobby is awesome, because the answer to the above question is in the eye of the beholder. Personally, I think a great trade is when both sides are happy with what they receive. And last week, David over at “é rayhahn, rayhahn” contacted me about trading some of my Twins for a few of his cards that would be better off in my collection than his.
Sure we negotiated a little between book value and sell value... but in the end... the trade agreement left both of us pleased. He now has eleven new additions to his Minnesota Twins PC. And me? Well I received these PC additions:
You can see what I sent him by clicking here. Collectors can debate who got the better end of the deal. Personally... I think it's pretty fair. Both of us were able to unload cards that we didn't want... Both of us received cards that are going straight into our PC's... and most importantly... both of us are happy with this trade. In my opinion... that makes this a great trade.
If anyone has any Twins cards for trade... I encourage you to head over to David's blog and contact him. Who knows... he might just have some cards for your PC.
Thanks again David for the trade. I look forward to trading with you again in the future.
